これまで女舞を踊ることが多かった私にとって、「ちょけた役」に挑むのは初めての経験。
お稽古では師匠にご指導いただくだけでなく、名人と呼ばれる方々の舞を拝見し、学ばせていただきました。
この作品の醍醐味は、傀儡師（人形遣い）が様々な人物を演じるという「二重の役」にあります。
私自身が八百屋お七や平知盛を演じているのではなく、あくまで「ごん乃ゆいが演じる傀儡師」が、それらの人物を演じているのです。
一見まわりくどいようですが、そこに表現の奥行きとユーモアがあり、稽古を重ねるほどに踊る楽しさが深まっていきました。
Up to that point, I had often performed female roles, so this “comical” part was a new challenge.
Alongside lessons from my teacher, I studied the performances of celebrated masters to absorb their artistry.
The fascination of this work lies in its double-layered role: the puppet master enacts a variety of characters.
It is not Yui Gonno who plays Yaoya Oshichi or Taira no Tomomori — it is the puppet master I portray who performs them.
Roundabout as it may seem, this layering gives the dance both depth and humor.
With each rehearsal, my enjoyment of embodying the role grew ever deeper.
